7. Black Widow Aluminum Dirt Bike Stand

Whenever I see a black widow product, I know that I’ll be including it in one of my reviews for sure. Their manufacturer: Rage Powersports have this legacy of dishing out super effective products that are simple in design. This one is no stranger to that policy.
Your first impression of this would be underwhelming, you might joke it off saying… “it looks like a stool”. But that’s not the case at all. Just like a wolf in sheep’s clothing, you’ll find out its true nature only after being around it for a while.
This simple-looking bike stand is actually a monstrosity that can carry loads up to 1,500 lbs!!!. No, I didn’t add an extra 0 by mistake. Shocked? That was my reaction too when I was first found out.
It can easily lift the bike up 16.5″, this much elevation is perfect for maintenance or other patch-ups. Furthermore, the 3-⅜” hole at the center is spacious enough for a quick oil change.
The top surface of the stand is a 10″ x 10″ rubber padded surface that makes sure there’s no friction between the bike and stand. Plus, it’s made to be anti-slip.
This also comes with a tray where you could keep tools or an oil pan, even spare parts of your wish.

The hassle of transporting a bulky bike stand will be over when you opt for the Polisport Black Folding bike stand. This space-saving fella is sturdy enough for holding any dirt bike weighing up to 550 pounds. To make the prospect further interesting, Polisport crafted the surface of the bike stand with rigid polypropylene plastic. Moreover, they have provided injection molded rubber on top with a large oil drain hole for further comfort and stability while working on your bike. The rubber molded design also ensures that your bike won’t slip no matter how heavy or slippery it becomes.

9. Matrix Concepts M64 Elite Stand

The M64 from matrix concepts is another lightweight dirt bike stand that can handle heavy loads without budging at all.
If you happen to think the design is nostalgic, you’re actually right! It’s a redesign of the fan-favorite M2 Worx stand. It might be the mirror image of the M2, but trust me, it’s better.
The size of the M64 is 18″ x 16.5″ x 16″. The dimensions for the top surface are 10.5″ x 10.5″. That’s a bit more area than the black widow dirt bike stand I talked about just recently.
It’s made out of durable polycarbonate and can easily mount a 450cc dirt bike. Below the rubber platform, the stand has 4 aluminum struts- 1 near each leg that provide solid support to the stands.
Another cool thing about it is that the rubber platform is replaceable. So you don’t have to go out and buy a new stand every time it needs changing. They’ve made the upper platform to have reduced traction, so your bike has lesser chances of spinning and falling off.
For easier replacing, the manufacturers also reduced the mounting bolts to 4, the M2 used to have 16!
From a design perspective, I give it a 9/10. It looks really stylish, and no matter what kinda bike you have, they have a matching color for it.
- Tool tray keeps tools and bolts in place
- 4.5″ x 5.5″ center hole makes oil changes easy
- Injection-molded from top class poly-carbonate
- Dirt enters a bit too easily
- Not adjustable height
10. Matrix Concepts A2 Black Aluminum Stand

Consisting of a simple and compact design, this Matrix Concepts lift stand is quite the steal and is arguably one of the best dirt bike stands. Though it doesn’t fold like some of Its competitors, the stand’s size lets it be portable. That means you can take it with you on a long road trip effortlessly.
To enhance its viability in bike repairing and cleaning work, the thing is crafted with 6063 11/8in. aircraft quality tubing. So, this tool will withstand the weight of large bikes too. And, this lightweight stand weighs only 3.9 pounds. That means that you’ll not only get a product that can accommodate virtually all models of motocross bikes, but you’ll also find that it can carry with ease.
Moreover, its flexibility and adaptability are further complemented by the 11 inches by 11 inches top surface that firmly holds dirt bikes in place. Also, it offers a replaceable or removable pad system. That’s right; you can change the pad whenever necessary. The anti-rock design of this 18-inch high device also increases its reliability.
You might also love its aesthetically pleasing side panels which provide it a unique appearance. However, there is a shortcoming, the stickers on the side panels come off pretty easily.
- It comes with an anti-rock design
- Heavy-duty build quality
- Lightweight and portable
- Stickers peel off over time
11. Excel PST-004 Gold Universal Triangle Motorcycle Stand

The last product in today’s article is the exact reason why you shouldn’t judge anything based on outer looks. Excel’s dirt bike triangle stand looks like a feeble stand, but it isn’t. In fact, it can carry 200+ lbs loads. Can you imagine that?
It’s made out of 11 mm single rod heavy-duty steel that lets it support a wide variety of dirt bikes. The welded tip can fit any dirt bike’s axle, ranging from 80cc kids dirt bikes or the 500cc ones for the grown-ups. This is why Excel also calls it the universal triangle motorcycle stand.
Another convenient feature of this stand is that it is incredibly space-saving, plus it is lightweight so you can carry it around anywhere with you for your dirt bike.
Plus, this stand is easy to use, clean, and maintain and there is no risk of accidents from mishandling it.
Durability is another of its strong suits, I used to think since it doesn’t cost that much and looks so small, it won’t last long. To my surprise, I was wrong again. Even if you use it every day, you can expect it to last long.
There is a coat of zinc that makes it resist corrosion and rust, extending its lifespan.
Out of all the products I’ve reviewed today, this one is the most cost-efficient.
- Easy to set up, use and maintain
- Compact, lightweight, and portable
- Solid performance
- Over time, it’ll bend a little
- Low clearance height
Things to consider before buying a dirt bike lift stand (Buying guide)
Here are some essential criteria that you must look for while choosing the best dirt bike stand for your vehicle. I have tried to make this buying guide a comprehensive guideline so that you can use this as a checklist during the purchase.
1. Ease of use
You should put most priority on this factor as we always pick a product mainly because we want our job done fast.
For instance, if you’re not working smoothly then you’re wasting your time adjusting to it.
So, you need to have an eye on all those bells and whistles which help you to finish the task quickly with less hassle.
2. Lift height
Checking the lift height is also crucial before buying it. As a result, one can service his/her bike conveniently locking it to an appropriate height.
You also need to check the height adjustability settings and their adjusting ranges. Moreover, a good quality bike stand offers different height settings to make bike repairing and cleaning more efficient.
3. Size and Setup
You should pick one that is not bulkier in size so that it occupies less space in your workplace and you can move freely while working. If it is big then you will face difficulties placing it in your small garage.
Also, buy a stand that requires no special tool or skill to put together.
4. Safety
Whenever we’re getting a dirt bike stand we must check whether the bike lift is safe or not before getting it.
It will be detrimental for your expensive bike if you are using an unsafe bike stand. Check if the bike lift stand has necessary safety features like anti-tilt, non-skid surface, non-slip, etc.
Also, make sure that the stand doesn’t wobble while you mount your bike on it.
5. Warranty and Brand
Yes, a warranty has its own importance because it gives you confidence that the manufacturers are responsible for their defective products and they will repair them for free or else replace them with a new one. This is particularly important for dirt bike stands because if you get a low-quality one, the stand might be weak.
Remember, if there is no warranty, then the product may be very low in quality. So, you have to purchase it at your own risk.
Moreover, you should study some big names in this industry. It helps you single out any popular brand’s bike stand from a large number of options. It is obvious that famous brands rarely make poor products.
6. Maximum Weight Capacity
Weight capacity is one of the most important factors when choosing a dirt bike stand. Is there any point of a stand if it crumbles from the bike’s weight? That’s why find out what your dirt bike weighs and get one accordingly.
Some lifts can lift motorcycles weighing up to 300 lbs., while some can go up to 500 lbs. or more.
If you have a big MX bike, then it is best to look for the one with a higher weight capacity.
7. Portability
If you travel to a lot of places for bike meets, events, and other purposes, then a portable lift is the best option. They are smaller in size and can be assembled within minutes.
Also, these bike stands take less storage space which is a big plus-point for a long journey.
8. Corrosion Resistant
Most dirt bike stands are made of metals. And we know that metals are prone to corrosion. Even if you’re keeping your dirt bike in a cool dry area, it still can get in touch with moisture in the atmosphere.
And the corrosion can spread from the stand to your bike. That’s why, choose one that’s rust and corrosion-free, because cleaning it up is a pain.
9. Unique Features
Dirt bike stands in its core design do the same thing. What differentiates them are the extra perks.
Every product brand has their own outstanding features that distinguish them from their competitors. So, you should know about these features before purchasing any motorcycle stand.
Magnetic panel, damping shock, foot levers are some of my favorite dirt bike stand features.
10. Durability
Last but least, you have to look for the durability and strength of the lift stand. After all, heavy-duty and well-made moto stands last for a long time. So, it is important to have a strong metal body and all parts made of good quality steel or aluminum.
At last, after considering all these factors, we must buy a product which perfectly
Types of dirt bike stands
There are 4 different kinds of dirt bike stands and each stand offers unique features to make your bike maintenance work effortless and efficient. However, there are other variations but these variations will fall under these main four categories that I’m going to discuss below. Let’s have a look at them…
1. Traditional style stand
This sort of stand comes with basic settings and has no fancy appearance. Some of these tools are made of durable plastic and some are built with solid steel or aluminum.
Moreover, these lift stands are usually inexpensive and very easy to use. Though you won’t have height adjustment options with it, these are the simplest bike stands on the market. Some traditional type stands can be folded for convenient storage.
2. Adjustable Lift stand
These types of lift stands are a super handy option for riders who struggle to lift their bikes on traditional stands or the riders are a little bit shorter in height.
They offer adjustable height settings and a pretty simple bike mounting process. Just slide the lift stand underneath your bike and push the lever or handle downward with your foot and the bikes would be lifted. Some adjustable lift stands come built-in with a shock absorber for secure bike unloading.
3. Ride-on lift stand
Ride-on lift stands are also a very good option for short riders. You can easily lift heavy and bulky bikes on it with less effort. These stands allow you to mount bikes on them by just riding straight onto them. They literally stay flat down on the floor for easy bike lifting.
However, this type of stand has an awkward size and requires more space compared to other options.
4. Hydraulic Scissor Lift Stand
They are the most expensive option and for good reason too. First of all, they are extremely strong and last for many years despite regular usage. That’s why you will find them mostly in bike repair shops as they have to deal with various kinds of bikes having different weight ranges. These lift stands are height-adjustable too. You can easily raise their height using the paddle and lock it in place after reaching your desirable height.
How to use a dirt bike stand?
Putting a dirt bike on a stand looks easy to do, but there are some subtleties to it that you must know and adhere to. Otherwise, you could get injured or the bike might fall and get damaged.
So, how do you secure a dirt bike on a stand? That’s what I’ll show you right now:
- First, you have to place the stand close to the dirt bike.
- Go in front of the dirt bike and hold the brakes. This way the front wheels won’t move.
- Now, you lift the front wheel and place the bike on the stand. Slowly adjust the placement so the chassis rests on the base.
- Further adjust the bike’s placement so that both the wheels are lifted and in a balanced state. And, you’re done leveling your bike.
Alternatively, you can lift the dirt bike by pulling the fender, but this one requires more hip strength.
It’s best if you avoid lifting the rear wheel to place it on the stand because you’ll be stretching yourself quite a bit and won’t be able to use your center of gravity that much to lift.
Whatever you do, DO NOT GRAB THE BIKE BY THE PIPES. They’ll be incredibly hot after a ride and you’ll burn your hands if you touch them soon after. I still regret doing that once.
You don’t need giant muscles for this one. Just good awareness and technique.
Why do you need a dirt bike stand?
The truth is, you can make do without a dirt bike stand, but having one would definitely make your life easier. For starters, it will save you a lot of time. And time is the most important resource we have in our lives.
Okay, enough with the philosophical talk, let me show you where a dirt bike stand would definitely come in handy:
Repairs
It will help you during repairs. Several major [or minor] repairs require lifting the dirt bike. For example, replacing the oil filter. Having a stand would definitely make things smoother for you. Even more, if you’re doing it by yourself.
Oil changes
You’ll be losing a lot of money if you’re going to shops for something minor like oil changes, especially if you’re focused on racing, where oil changes are very frequent. With a stand, you can do it by yourself!
While usually we let the chassis rest on the stand, in this case, you’ll be placing the stand in between the front wheel and chassis. Next, you open up the drain bolt and loosen up the filter cup to change the oil and you’re done.
Tire changes
Whether you’ve got a leak in your tire or you wanna upgrade to a better one, using a stand to hold the bike would surely speed up the process. If the bike is hosted on the stand, you have both of your hands free to loosen up the axle nuts and bolts, then remove the tire and replace it with a new one. It simplifies the job, basically.
Cleaning
A simple truth in life is, your dirt bike will get dirty. There is no way you’d go out on a ride and come back with a squeaky clean bike. Expect your dirt bike to be full of dirt, dust, and mud when you come back after a long day of trailing, off-roading, or hiking.
But as a good owner, you have to keep your bike clean. With a stand, easily take a hose and wash every nook and cranny of it.

Storage
I touched this topic briefly before. By having your dirt bike on a stand you’re giving the suspensions and tires an extended life period. Dirt bikes are often heavy and if left as it is, place a lot of burden on the suspension and tires. But if they’re on a stand, you can relieve them of that stress.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to leave a motorcycle on a lift stand?
It depends on your bike stand capabilities, conditions, and your bike size. It is completely safe to leave the motorcycle on a good quality stand that supports your bike’s weight. However, if you own a height-adjustable lift stand, make sure you have set it to minimum height while leaving your bike on it.
How high does a motorcycle lift go?
Some dirt bike lift stands come with a fixed height and if you use them, you will get a fixed elevation which is around 14-18 inches. On the other hand, a height-adjustable lift stand can be lifted from 15-20 inches to 33-34 inches according to the height limit of your lift stand’s model.
Can I change the rubber pad of the bike stand?
If your bike stand features a replaceable rubber pad option, then you can. Otherwise, attempting to change your lift stand’s rubber pad may ruin the tool if it’s not changeable. So, you should not try to replace the rubber pad.
To sum up
There are a lot of valid reasons for using a dirt bike stand. As an owner of a bike myself, I can testify that having one can really help your bike to stay in a healthy condition.
The extreme max hydraulic dirt bike stand is a safe and solid pick if you’re having trouble choosing one.
I hope this article of mine will help you find the best dirt bike stand for your exclusive bike.
